SOUND OFF: What was your Favorite Superbowl Commercial?

Posted by Juan

How did this year’s crop meeasure up to recent year’s ads?

Bud Light Autotune (Featuring T-Pain)
If Jay-Z’s DOA didn’t kill Autotune this ad surely should have. If sampling is any evidence, Hip Hop has always been a culture of copycats. So its not surprising that Autotune became as popular as it did after Miami’s own T-Pain built an entire career from it. However, just as Hip Hop as sampling is, so is the anti-commercial movement. While a Bud Light check might be a good look for T-Pain, there’s no doubt aspiring rappers in Pro-Tools studios around the US will put that Autotune filter on the backburner. Oh thank God.

Here’s the Doritos Crash The Superbowl Finalist submission from Avi Cohen. I’m not gonna front, this fan submitted spot might have been the hottest of the night and is Highbrid Nation relevant. Have you ever been caught sneaking a peak from the kid?

Here’s the sexy little ad from Motorola featuring the very gorgeous blanquita, Megan Fox. But does Motorola’s appeal to the sex starved Technogeeks give it a leg up over the other mobile phone commercials during the Superbowl from Boost Mobile who appealed to those who remember the Superbowl Shuffle from the 1986 Chicago Bears crew or the very odd MetroPCS’s Indian Tech & Talk spot.

If you’re like me, when you were a kid along with hood games we used to play around the way like Red Light, Green Light, 1,2,3 you played Punch Buggy with your friends. This ad brings back a little of that nostalgia for me.

Volkswagon Punch Buggy

Usually the controversy is more about what happens on the field but this year this commerical spot from former Florida Gator Quaterback Tim Tebow and his mother Pam Tebow inspired a nationwide controversy recalling a generation old debate over Rowe v. Wade and abortion.

Coca Cola teamed up with The Simpsons to help celebrate the animated series 20th Anniversary. This one’s for 4PL and all the Nation’s huge Simpsons fans.

Here are some of the others from the rest of the field

Kia Sorento: Joyride.

Bud Light House

truTV Commercial: Punxsutawney Polamalu

Even Google got in on the act for a rare TV appearance.

The Doritos commerical was crazy. My son whose name is Jalen, like the kid in the commerical, once upon a time told me to keep my hands off his mother, my wife. That made it extra funny!!

LMAO! My two and a half year old just told me that the other day! His mama was so proud, too! That was definitely my favorite one!
