Michael Jackson Is Getting Sued For Singing A R. Kelly Song
Geez. let the guy settle in the guy before you start suing him
Universal Music Group is suing the estate of the late Michael Jackson for the sum of $3000. The lawsuit is the result of a television special called “Michael Jackson’s Private Home Movies”. The show featured spiced together never before seen bits of home video footage showing Michael Jackson interact with his friends and family before the time of his death in the early summer of 2009.
In one particular clip Michael Jackson is riding in a car with director Brett Ratner. While they are in the car R. Kelly‘s “Ignition Remix” comes on and the two start singing and dancing to the song. Universal wants to get paid because they say Michael never asked for permission to sing “Ignition”, a song they have ownership/publishing rights to.
R. Kelly hasn’t gone on record with a comment about Universal suing Michael Jackson on his behalf but it must be awkward for him given the personal and creative relationship that he and MJ shared. Maybe drawn together by their love of the youngsters misunderstood nature, R. Kelly has written several songs for Michael Jackson including the hit “You Are Not Alone”.
Although Kelly has not commented on the recent lawsuit he has indeed seen the Michael Jackson Ignition clip and has in the past cited it as an example the Michael Jackson was a much cooler and more down to earth person that many realized.

Michael looks akward as hell in this clip. If you didn’t know better, you’d think he didn’t even know how to dance…and he clearly does not know the words to the song, so out the window goes the “he’s way cooler than you think” theory. lol
Brett for his part is a well known douche who is probably just happy that he will be “immortalized” in the clip. smh.

Wow. Seriously?!?! Anyone in the music biz better KNOW now that them execs are out for blood and it dnt matter if youre alive or not!!
This is completely ridiculous, Michael was singing the song in A CAR,it’s not like he was on stage. PEACE!!!
