New VH1 Docu-Series Exhumes The Lifes of Biggie And Pack and Examines thier Deaths

Posted by Juan

An in depth look at how these Hip Hop legends came to such a pass

Although I was one of the first in line last March to peep “Notorious” as it hit the big screen and have since seen it a few times since, I felt some kind of way last night as the flick surprised me with an HBO premier.  Almost out of a weird kind of respect for the late great Notorious B.I.G. I dropped what I was doing to watch the movie yet again intently as if I was unfamiliar with the now most popular hip hop tragedy.

And perhaps it was this respect, this willingness to still relate, reminisce and recall this sad story of how not only B.I.G. was lost but his brother in music, Tupac Shakur as well that compelled VH1 to center an upcoming episode of their new documentary series, “Famous Crime Scenes” on the pair of talented artists gone far too soon.

The which does a sort of investigative recount the most shocking celebrity deaths. What better way to launch the series than to feature Hip Hop’s prodigal sons, linked not only in their art in life but in their death and the manufactured East Coast/ West Coast feud which ultimately was responsible for their murder.  The epsiode will examine how the code of the streets, Government conspiracy and law enforcement cover ups are major factors in why their cases are no closer to being solved today than they were 10 years ago.

Although these events have been well documented by “Notorious” and shows like VH1′s “Behind the Music” this investigative report is said to feature never-before-heard personal accounts from eye-witnesses, experts and investigators and even the eerie 911 calls to police and computer generated reenactments of the fatal events. In addition to Tupac and Biggie, “Famous Crime Scenes” which premiers next Friday, February 12 at 9PM ET is slated to recount the events behind the deaths of John Lennon, Anna Nicole Smith, Selena, Marvin Gaye and of course Michael Jackson.
