SOUND OFF: Thoughts on President Obama’s State of The Union Speech

Posted by Juan

Calls for the nation to hit “the reset button”

Say what you will about the President’s politics, last night he issued a very riveting speech for his first State of the Union Address.  He showed the control and power and energetic leadership quality that got him elected in the first place.  The speech might have been so well written and delivered that it might have nullified any hope the opposing GOP party hoped to gain with their response delivered by newly elected conservative rockstar, Governor Bob McDonnell from the floor of the Virginia State legislature.

But many critics have noticed that Obama didn’t mention health care, the single most identifiable policy that he’s faught for in his first year until halfway through his speech choosing instead to focus in on the more pressing economy and job creations.  He did however pronounce the health care battle is not done, saying he’s not a quitter.

Overall the tone of the speech was unity.  It was an attempt to stop the bickering between parties and bring everyone back to the table and to tell Congress that their behavior will not be tolerated as it is at the expense of the American people.  It was an attempt to remind those that voted for change that it can still happen but he never “promised it would come easy or that [he] could do it alone.”

But what did you think about the President’s address?  SOUND OFF!

Obama is one of the best speakers of our time an hour an ten minutes of solid talk, but thats all it is TALK. I said it before and I’ll say it again fuck bi-partenship, ur in charge push your agenda like George Jr. pushed his, republicans are never going to get on board which was evident by the “republican response”, I couldn’t believe the networks covered that nonsense after the State of the Union.

  2. Emerson Diaz says:

I didn’t listen to the speech. I don’t usually like it when politicians masturbate me verbally. Last speech I listed to was Pres. Obama’s inaguration speech, because it was a historic event. I support him 100%. Let’s go!

    • 4pl says:

      Blind Support? Idk about that!

      • Emerson Diaz says:

Not blind. I think he deserves a chance to do the job. Since he has been in office, it has been one attack after another. People need to realize that partisan politics have ruined this political system. He can’t get anything done with Republicans opposing every single thing he talks about. It’s ridiculous.

  3. The speech was great but to be honest I’m just not sure Obama will ever be able to get any of that done. The republicans have truly become the party of “no” and they hate him so much they they take pleasure in shooting down everything he proposing.

Obama is one of the best speakers of our time, because his word written not him self.. politics from USA not change.)
