There are pretty much two things you can say about Greg Oden, the former #1 overall pick of NBA Draft to this point in his career, he’s been a bust and he probably has the least personality of anyone in the league.  So when self taken naked cellphone pics of him hit the internet it probably came as a shock to every hoops fan.  I mean really we’ve come to expect those sort of pics from Maliah Michel and Cubana Lust not Greg Oden.  Then again, after the whole Tiger incident we should have learned our lesson.

So after hip hop’s TMZ, WorldStarHipHop.com, flix apparently sent in my a scorned “jumpoff” he learned the mistakes of many celebrities before him and instead fessed up.

“First, I’d like to apologize to everybody … Portland, the fans, the organization. It was very embarrassing,” Oden said to reporters. “It was something that happened over a year and a half ago. I’m very sorry, and I’m definitely embarrassed for my family and everybody…”

Oden has been injury plagued since entering the league as a promising big man. He missed his rookie season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right knee was shut down early in December for the year when he broke his left patella.  So clearly he’s had time to be doing self-taken impromptu photoshoots but given his very mundane personality, often the butt of many jokes it would seem out of character.  That very point was highlighted in this ESPN The Magazine Commercial.
Oden, who learned of the photos through a friend said when he found out his “heart dropped.”

“It was a lady friend who I was having a relationship with, and it was just for her. It was definitely meant to keep private,” Oden explained.

But that’s the thing isn’t it.  They never intend for them to get out, but the always do don’t they?

“I definitely learned a lot since it happened. Like I said, it was over a year and a half ago. I’ve definitely matured since then. You have to be careful with what you do, and who you trust,” Oden said.

Hopefully I won’t be posting a YouTube video on Highbrid Nation one day apologizing for some slackness.  Oh yeah that would imply that I would be famous and someone would actually care.
