Elin Nordegren May Soon Trade in Tiger For Puma
Athletic Apparel manufacturer in intense negotiations to land Tiger’s wife for new Swedish-inspired clothing line
Is it true that Elin Nordegren could be trading in her Tiger for Puma? Apparently so according to a TMZ.com report (by the way, as much as they report outlandish stories are they every wrong?) The outlet is quoting a source that wife of disgraced golf legend and ironically minted AP “Athlete of the Decade” is “very close” to signing an endorsement deal with Puma. ”
An official from Puma has confirmed they are in ‘internal discussions’ to sign Elin as a spokesperson for a new Swedish-inspired clothing line called Tretorn.” While the rep said Puma wants Elin because they feel she’s “a good brand fit” there’s no doubt talks have significantly heated up as the company looks to capitalize on her current media equity and perhaps create an ethical line in the sand against rival Nike, which of course sponsors Tiger.
Its a very interesting strategy. Who knows? Given both brands dramatically skew male, it could be interesting if support is put behind Puma by the demographic of women who are incensed by cheating behavior. We’ll have to see.

It would be interesting. I doubt Nike Golf would be too heart by it unless the Puma brand they are trying to push is also producing apparel for males.
