Billboard Names Beyonce & Eminem Artists of the Decade
Do you agree? Who would your pick be?
Yesterday Billboard made the grand but very controversial announcement that it has selected Eminem and Beyonce as its male and female “Artists of the Decade.” The title is in large part based on the artists’ success on their Billboard 200 albums and Billboard Hot 100 singles charts.
The best-selling digital song of all time, Flo Rida’s “Low” (5.2 million and counting) ranks No. 3 on the decade-end Hot 100 songs recap, behind Usher‘s track “Yeah!” at No. 2 and Mariah Carey‘s “We Belong Together” at No. 1 but none of these artists had the ability to captivate audiences on both charts like Em and Beyonce.

Definitely B for female and for male, HMMM, I really don’t think it’s M, maybe Jay Z.

Thought about male artist a bit. As bad as I hate to admit it, it should probably go to Kanye.
I’m gonna have to go back in time and think about this one for a bit…I damn sure know it ain’t Kanye. He’s only been famous for about 5 maybe 6 years…Its gotta be Hov or Eminem. You think about who’s been in the game that long, who’s had the most hits consistently? Its not Lil Wayne, Kanye, Young Jeezy, T.I., and Nelly, DMX, and several other rappers that were hot in ’99 have fallen off the radar. As for Hov & Em they’ve always stayed on top. Its a tough decision I think. And I’m clueless about the top female…
Damn bruh, I didn’t mean to get ya goin! I’m just sayin…I’m kinda like you, I was thinkin maybe Nelly, 50cent, Ja Rule, nobody has stayed hot for a long time. Kayne has been hot for the last 5, 6 years though. I can’t think of another male other than Jay that’s been up for 9, 10 years other than M. I didn’t really think M was a good choice at first, but he’s probly close to the top when you really look at it.
Remember this is a BILLBOARD award not just hip hop however 2 “Black” artists won. So you have to take into consideration the pop, rock, alternative artists as well.
Ya know, I just had a brain fart; Billboard named these two based on SALES. We don’t have to agree or like the choices. PEACE!!

Beyonce and Em sound about right to me.
I say Bey and Jay even though i like Em better myself I just think J been doing his grown man takin hip-hop to new levels. but shiid i can’t hate on Em he be killin shit.
Beyonce for female, Jay-Z or Eminem for male. And group would be Outkast. Speakerbox/ the Love Below sold 10 million copies in less than a year and was a dope ass album.
I can agree to all of that.
