This flop hurt me personally, I am a big 50 fan! When I heard that song, baby by me, with kelly, I was sure that he took it to another level, but I just think that Americans, particularly blacks just don’t want to hear the truth, I also think that if Kelly were light, bright, and laced wigged that the reception would have been a whole lot different… that song was the shit, it was real talk and he didn’t bite his tongue when he swong at all of the hoes in the industry that are just “baby moms” and those that were “sold” into marriage to stop people from talking….anyway, big ups to you 50, your album still was the best and deserved a better reception from these fake and phonies!
At the end of the day, the industry will drown in its own vomit, they didn’t even nominate whitney houston for a grammy, and they expect for me to fly out of my viking and wolfed up home and spend a dolla on them???

I disagree…Why wouldn’t he worry about the sales? If it’s his passion then it should bother him. So he made his money now fK everbody else? BS. It’s like an NBA or NFL player. Now I have all the money, now I want the ring. Thats the only thuing left they have to play for. So for Curtis to have bragging rights as a top selling artist is the icing on the cake. And I’m not buying anything less. He can say what he wants. The lack of sales hurt him personally.

he didn’t market it like his other albums, yeah you got baby by me but there wasn’t the hype like he had for his last 3 albums, get rich or die tryin which is arguably his best work had all the hype as eminem’s/dre’s latest prodigy, the massacre was the follow up to that and he provided some very popular singles (plural) with talk about the video game which hyped him up even more and not forgetting his famous beefs with Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Jadakiss etc. and then you had curtis in which he waged war on Kanye creating more of a buzz. this album had less of a buzz and i didn’t know the exact release date

i on purposely left power of the dollar out as it was not as successful as the rest of his work

It’s not as extreme as Guns ‘N Roses ‘Chinese Democracy’ but you can’t do the “Boy Who Cried Wolf” with an album. It was gonna come out two years ago…then a year ago, now it does come out and I didn’t even know about it. I’m still thinking singles are being leaked on mix-tapes and sh#t. He can hope that this will fall under another cliche, that “there is no such thing as bad publicity”. Maybe people will see the news about the flop and then go get the album.

This is a flop…because artists like Jay and Em (who albums recently dropped)can still go GOLD in one week…why can’t 50? Everyone puts him in the same space as these artists! The truth is 50 Cent no longer holds the interest of the public unless he is gossiping about another artists who is HOTTER than him or playing “Pimpin Curley!” Him being rich holds no weight…this man based his whole career on sales and now that he is “A MAJOR FLOP”….it no longer matters! How is an artist like 50 doing the same numbers as artists like Rick Ross and Jada who 50 clowned for their sales. T.I., Kanye, Wayne, Jay and Em managed to generate their fan base to go out and purchase thier album, although they leaked so what happened to 50′s fan base…they no longer desire him? He is more of a comedian than a hip hop artist! He spends more time obsessing over Jay than he actually (his favorite word) does promoting BISD!!!!

Juan, I dnt think the leak of his album hurt him. he knew it was a crap album. probably to resolve contractual agreements. Plus, i think people just tired of the same ole shit from him. he been riding the same ole way of doing things (much like the person who brought him in) that got him in the door. if you havent evolved in your craft and tried to get better at what you like to do(if music IS what he likes to do) then you wont get any better at it at all. His first wave was killin it! the second album was straight and then it went all downhill from there, gradually. His music career is NOT what it used to be. THAT is the reason he has branched out into other venues to make other monies.

See, if it was Kayne, he would have claimed it as the greatest failure in history; a failure so large and so widespread that he would go down in history as a hero of failed attempts.

Of course it could have been worse. When the horror show of a Paris Hilton movie came out some time back, it’s nation-wide sales averaged $76 per theater, which worked out to 10 tickets per screen on its opening weekend.

His album experienced one of the worst jailbreak leaks in history. From what I heard there’s some ok music on there. 50 is always entertaining. I think its a testament to the music industry and the economy. He’s not the only one flopping.

I haven’t personally heard the album. I just heard 2 tracks that were leaked earlier this month. If he sold 150k in the first week that’s still pretty good if you consider the average sales that most rappers get now a days. And the amount of album sales may actually go up in the coming weeks. But 50′s got bank, he don’t need to put any music out really. In my opinion he’s doing it for 2 reasons…

1. He’s legally bound to make more albums by contract.

2. He just makes music for the fans, whether the music sells or not if he’s doing it for the fans that’s ok in my book.
