Maybe its the economy but its seems like everyone has lost their mind. Take a look at these photos of former Major League Baseball player Sammy Sosa taken at last week’s Latin Grammy Awards.  Dude!  What’s up with his skin?!

Of course the rumor mill has been in full crank as people speculate that perhaps his skin discoloration is in some way a side-effect of his alleged performance enhancing abuse during his playing days.  Other have speculated that my fellow Dominican countryman may be suffering from vitiligo the skin condition that the late great Michael Jackson claimed to have been responsible for his ever lightening skin shade.

“He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson,” former Chicago Cubs employee Rebecca Polihronis told the Chicago Tribune.  “He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin,” said Polihronis, who talks frequently with Sosa. “Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double.”

Show me ONE woman who had what Sammy had and I’ll show you a buffoon.  Remember when L’Oreal was under fire for photoshopping Beyonce‘s skin to appeal to a broader (white) audience?  How did that work out?  There were even rumors that Rihanna tried to dip in the facial Clorox.  FALSE! No one wants to be paler.  Especially not when you look like you’re wearing the white people costume make up often seen on Saturday Night Live skits.

Look, Sammy was once the Dominican icon chasing Babe Ruth’s home run record alongside fellow steroid abuser Mark McGuire.  Then he got caught cheating when cork was discovered in his shattered bat.  His demise was then accelerated when he looked real guilty trying to play the “no speake ingles” card when supenoed to testify before Congress at the infamous Steroid hearings.  Talk about fall from grace.
