Amid Excitement For His Yankees, Jay-Z Pushes DJ Hero Signature Edition
New video game features Jigga vs. Eminem mashup remix
Ever the businessman, it would only be right that Jay-Z be involved in the launch DJ Hero, the new interactive music game from Activision who hopes will be as wildly successful as its predecesor, Guitar Hero. In between outs and rooting his home team to the World Series, Jigga has been hard at work promoting his signature DJ Hero Renegade Edition which mashes up an original remix with him and fellow emcee, Eminem. Here’s the new commercial for the game.
Hov hopes the DJ hero will serve as a monument to further cement his legacy.
“I picked a song from each of my albums. I’ve never had a greatest hits, so it’s pretty much like my greatest hits,” he said.
While Jay says fans will enjoy the music and game play the emcee whose never DJ warns fans to not get too overconfident in their mixing skills.
“It’s very challenging and fun and you get lost and you start believing that you can deejay a party,” he laughed. “I think some kids may go out and try to deejay a party and really mess up really bad and realize it’s not as easy as it seems.”
In other Jay-Z news, his reported performance of his hometown anthem “Empire State of Mind” with fellow New Yorker Alicia Keys for Game 1 of the World Series between the Yankees and Phillies has been postponed due to a prior concert obligation in Ohio. He is still hoping to perform for game 2 instead.
