Jay-Z Drops Limited Edition Rocawear Polo To Benefit Breast Cancer Awareness
A whopping 5% of the proceeds will benefit Susa G. Komen For The Cure Foundation’s Circle of Promise’ campaign
While Jay-Z gears up for his once in a lifetime performance with Alicia Keys of their duet, “Empire State of Mind” at the opening of the world series at Yankee Stadium, his clothing line, Rocawear is helping to raise awareness for breast cancer. If you haven’t been paying attention, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as part of its social responsibility they’ve jointed forces with the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation’s, Circle of Promise’ campaign and are dropping a limited edition “Roc For The Cure” Polo.
5% of the proceeds (seems rather low) from the shirts sold now through December 31, 2009 will be donated to the research foundation geared toward African American women with a minimum guaranteed set at $20,000. The polo will be available for $44 at Macy‘s and Rocawear.com in black and white, each with the signature pink breast cancer awareness accent. If you’re interested you can learn more by visiting roc4life.com

I’m a little disappointed honestly. While I recognize the gesture, 5%?! That’s the cost of thread in these heavily marked up garments.
