Its Official: Shyne To Be Deported
Despite living in New York all his life and serving his time, officials are throwing him back
If serving 9 years of a 10 year jail sentence for taking Diddy‘s rap wasn’t bad enough, rapper Shyne has been festering in jail, despite being set for release while officials determined whether or not to deport him back to his birth country of Belize. Well it looks like the decision has been made and he’s being sent back.
Shyne, has argued that he should be allowed to stay in the U.S mother and grandmother reside and where he was raised. The rapper, who has vowed to continue his fight from belize, has been urgin fans to petition New York Governor David Paterson‘s office to issue him a pardon. The process of course isn’t uncommon to the Acting Governor who recently and unexpectedly pardoned fellow rapper, Slick Rick.
“Shyne is one of the strongest people I know and he’s handling this situation just as I’d expect him to,” HOT 97′s Angie Martinez told blogger and radio personality Miss Info. “It must be frustrating for all of his friends and family; he served his time, and keeps getting all these different dates and conflicting information. But he’s a soldier, he’s dealing with it.”

I for one am very surprised by the ruling but I guess I shouldn’t be. The government, namely the New York State government has decided to crack down on “urban” activity and has been setting examples right and left. Whether its Plaxico and his self-inflicted gunshot, Lil Wayne and his gun charge or this Shyne incident. When you hear about “urban” arrests they’re frequently happening in the state of New York. That said, Shyne served his time and Its hard to deny even in a court of law that he’s a New Yorker although he was born abroad. I’d be interested to know the statistics of those sent back in similar situations because I tend to believe there’s some bias here. I’m emailing Governor Paterson now, if you’re a New Yorker, I’d hope you do the same.

Well unfortunately I don’t live in NY but if I did I would definitely write to this Paterson guy. I feel like Shyne deserves a break. He did his time (or should I say Diddy’s time) so let him stay! How is the America gonna imprison someone for that long who they feel isn’t a citizen but then when their time is done they want to send their ass back to another country?! That’s some bullsh*t! If they were gonna do that all along they shouldn’t have sent him to prison.
I AGREE WITH THE OTHER COMMENT… I;M NOT FROM NEW YORK BUT DON’T HAVE TO BE TO KNOW THAT WHAT THEY’RE DOING IS NOT RIGHT, AND I’M SURPRISED IT’S NOT UNCONSTITUTIONAL! IT’S VERY CLOSE TO BEING DOUBLE JEPORDY! HE SERVED HIS (DIDDY’S) TIME AND “REPAID HIS DEBT TO SOCIETY” NOW LET THE MAN GO HOME TO HIS FAMILY!! KEEP YA HEAD UP SHYNE AND EVEN THO IT LOOKS UGLY JUST KNOW THAT ANYWHERE IS BETTER THAN THE BELLY OF THE BEAST!!!!
The part that disturbs me the most honestly is that they kept him in jail while they decided what to do with him. UHHHHH…didn’t you have 9+ years to think about it? Ridiculous.

I feel bad for Shyne, I was hoping that he’d be able to stay here(U.S.), & get his career started again. PEACE!!!
