T-Pain Conceeds To Jay-Z’s ‘D.O.A.’ Lays Auto-Tune To Rest

Posted by Juan

Artist stops short of holding a funeral for the sound filter

It seems that despite several months of mudslinging with over Jay-Z’s single, “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune,” T-Pain may have come to grips with the fact that the cheesy but popular sound-effect is indeed played out.

The entertainer recently made a grand entrance at DJ Khaled’s release party in Miami in a hearse with Jigga’s “D.O.A.” blaring from the speakers.   In the back?  An open coffin with a mummy sporting jeans and white-T rocking the entertainer’s tremendous “Big Ass Chain” and signature top hat.

Ok, now that the recognized King of Auto-Tune has put it to rest can we try a new filter on the Pro-Tools?

  1. I’d settle for better lyrics and original beats.

I feel you on that (Urban Thought)!!!

original huh?? that means that someone needs to take a chance on unknown or little known ‘producers’ so they can refine their individual styles. become a bruce lee of hip-hop of sorts.

That has always been the way of evolution in the music industry. When something is hot, they ride it until the wheels fall off and then there is a lull…until new talent comes out blazing…..It’s only been in the last 15-20 years that artists started producing their own records and young entrepeneurs stepped out and formed new record labels, in a bigger scale….I witnessed the birth of hip hop growing up in Harlem (going to block parties and seeing the Sugarhill Gang perform Rapper’s Delight before it made it to vinyl) and I’m actually proud of the way many of the artists took control of their music, started partnerships, branched out into the fashion industry, etc. (of course, I also mourn the eventual downward spiral of hip-hop over the last 10 or so years)….I think there is a crop of young, talented, hungry artists working underground, just waiting for their chance to shine….I just hope they don’t sign with Diddy!!!

Welp guess we wont be hearing anything else from T-Pain cuz he sure aint have any lyrics and was pretty much just a hook singer on other people’s tracks. Guess he held a funeral for his career as well lol
