Since former Bad Boy artist Shyne was sentenced to a 10-year bid stemming from his involvement in a 1999 club shooting much has been speculated about the true nature of his relationship with then boss, Sean “Diddy” Combs.  Many have believed (myself included) that Diddy, who was acquitted in incident left his protege, Shyne to bear all of his responsiblity for the shooting.

In 2003 exclusive behind-bars interview with Vibe magazine, Shyne said Diddy convinced a friend to finger him as the shooter who opened fire in the crowded nightclub club. All the while Diddy has maintained that though there was some friction, their issues had long been worked out and Diddy was doing all he could to  support the artist while he was locked up.

Even up until last week, Diddy told Angie Martinez of New York’s HOT 97 that he spoke with Shyne in prison and the rapper “sounded like he was in good spirits.”

“I know he can’t wait to get home. I know he is definitely going to heat the whole scene up,” Diddy told Martinez. “He was definitely one of the talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with.”

But the recently released Shyne now has a voice and says that conversation never happened nor would it have.

“I want it known that this supposed conversation is a figment of Sean Combs’ imagination,” Shyne said. “He never spoke with me, he never visited me nor would I ever accept a phone call or visit from him. The only way I would do either of those things would be if he stepped up and did the right thing for the victims of the incident.”

Even Shyne’s attorney, and objective party Oscar Michelen told Access Hollywood: “I was very surprised to hear Mr. Combs’ claims about talking with my client since I speak to Shyne all the time and he never mentioned anything about it. Knowing how he feels about Mr. Combs I know that it would have been very strange for Shyne to have spoken with him and not told anyone.”

As C-Hyphen told you late last week although Shyne has officially completed his prison sentence he’s being held at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility pending the possibility of deportation to Belize, where he was born.
