Oprah Gets ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson To Crack On His Daughter, Ear Biting
His first appearence on Oprah in support of the new documentary “Tyson.”
A seemingly medicated and awkwardly emotional Mike Tyson chops it up with “O” on topics from his marriage to Robbin Givens, to the death of his original trainer and father figure, Cus D’Amato in 1985, his time in prison, his new documentary, and his recent loss of his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus.
Mike Tyson is the single most tragic figure in American Sports history in my mind. His demise has obviously been well documented and in a society where we feed on such meltdowns we have kept him in the public eye long after his functional fighting days have ended. This interview is the truly sad and proof of the truly flawed individual Mike is and I guess always was.

People always want to get on Mike’s case, but I tell em if you were a kid from Brooklyn, who could fight, someone came and took you out of school at 13, trained you to fight and by 19 you were a millionaire and heavyweight champ of the world, and never heard the word NO, how would ur life turn out? Probably very similar.
I agree with 4pl… Not many could handle what Mike been through and keep thier sanity! FOR REAL! With that being said, I think he’s doing alright… He’s not shaking like Ali, or out of it like Fraizer. He’s just Mike. I’m from Brooklyn, and knowing exactly where Mike came from and how far he went is nothing short of Amazing. Everybody, just leave Mike alone….
LOL! C’mon Mane! Ain’t nobody picking on Mike!
Seriously, regardless of where he came from, the fact that he achieved so much and after earning an alleged $600 mil, he is broke. A Vegas sideshow, looking for a “reality” show gig….it is sad. I came up in Harlem at the same time Mike was coming up in Brooklyn, so I can empathize too. But I feel sort of the way Juan feels….it’s just too bad it has to be this way now…..
.
And his life, among a few others, should be an example to young cats like Souljahboy, who is spending his money reckelessly, on foolish crap. But, hey, he’ll learn…probably like the rest of us: the hard way!
