Over the last couple of years, singer/ songwriter, Alicia Keys not only been focused on expanding her career musically but building an empire in the corporate arena as well.  She impressed us when she teamed up with Dove on their “Fresh Takes” micro-series.  A couple of month’s later she stepped her game up even further and announced an 8 figure strategic partnerships with Vitamin Water. apparently she’s not stopping there.  We’ve learned that Keys has launched AK Worldwide, a new holding company that will manage her now expanding empire beyond music.

“It really explores the ways I can affect the world in a positive way, even outside of music.  It is really about finding ways to bring forth things into the world that will give you and all the people that encounter them, and myself, inspiration.”

To kick off her new project right Keys has unveiled her new handcrafted jewelry line called The Barber’s Daughters.  The 28 year old songstress intends the collection to be an inspiration not just an accessory.  Each piece is engraved with messages of hope and wisdom.

“The words, when you read them, they really do resonate with you. They kind of inspire you to want to find that place in yourself,” she said, sporting a silver oval ring that read: “May you find inspiration and meaning soaked in the wonders of the imagination cradled in compassion of the heart and hold a will to make difference.”

To further her devotion to uplifting and inspiring women, Keys has also announced plans for a new website, www.iamasuperwoman.com which will feature inspirational women and their stories.

“It really calls out to all those brilliant, amazing, fantastic women every day that are doing their thing and need kind of a community to support each other,” she said.

Yo Keys is doing it.  I’m real proud of her.  Her music has always been so honest and true and now it appears she’s really been able to translate that to her business ventures while maintaining the integrity of her moral obligation.  Salute!
