This past Saturday (October 3) 50 Cent hosted his groundbreaking “50 Fest Celebration/ Concert on the beach on Governor’s Island. (a small island off the coast of Manhattan)  The concert served to show appreciation for his fans while promoting his many ventures namely ThisIs50.com and his upcoming “Before I Self Destruct” album.

50 brought together a slew of New York artists, including Dipset, D-Block, Cory Gunz, Maino, KiD Cudi and Papoose, among others.  However Fabolous, a friend of fif’s was noticeably missing from the bill and was none to please and shared his feelings about it with his Twitter followers.

MyFabolouslife: Its interesting to c 50 Cent unite wit NY artists when he’s 1 of the reasons NY hip hop became so isolated & crumbled..Do u agree NY??

MyFabolouslife: I wonder if this is a law in the 50th law of power book??

MyFabolouslife: I guess it was a good show 4 NY.. But if u asked 50 a few years ago if he ever saw hisself on stage with any of them he woulda said HELL NO!

MyFabolouslife: Still 2 this day, 1 of the illest things i saw..Was 1 year a stadium full of fans screamin 4 Ja Rule, the next year shittin on him 4 50 cent

Realizing he might have instigated a potential feud, Fab later backed off his comments a bit.

MyFabolouslife: So dont think im takin shots at 50.. Jus that NY show had me a lil puzzled.. But i love NY so i couldnt knock it if i wanted to.

MyFabolouslife: At 50′s peak his grind was unmatched, image was bulletproof, music was ignorantly motivational & catchy, even classic. most never hav that

I wouldn’t necessarily call Fabolous’ comments inflamatory or out of line but they are a little sensitive.  I mean do Fab invite 50 to join him at every concert he held in NYC?  It wasn’t something a secure emcee would get upset about.  I guess it does keep him buzzing on the blogs and Twitter however.

Naturally, 50, not the one to hold any punches fired back with a response via thisis50.com.

“Reading what Fab said about me on Twitter was disappointing.  I have extended myself to Fab personally to allow him to expand himself as an international Touring Artist. I thought we were Friends but that’s cool.”

In response to Fab’s comment about his book, 50 later added:

“Law #2: Never put too much trust in Friends, Learn how to use Enemies.”

I don’t think this is the start of 50/Ja Rule part II.  I don’t know what the relationship is but I have the feeling 50 at a more mature plateau in his career will attempt to work this one out behind the scenes.
