Jim Jones pleads GUILTY to Christmas Holiday Assault of Ne-Yo’s BF(F)
Guilty plea avoids any probation which could restrict his movements
In what has amounted to the diva brawl of 2008, entertainer Jim Jones plead guilty to misdemeanor assault Monday. The charges stemmed from Jones arrest for his part in a melee at Louis Vuitton’s on New York City’s ritzy 5th Avenue which took place in front of very upscale holiday shoppers just three days before Christmas. Jones was accused of beating up Jayvon Smith, a friend and member of singer, Ne-Yo’s entourage.
According to Jones defense lawyer, Scott Leemon, Jones pleaded guilty because he didn’t want to risk probation which could restrict potential touring if convicted. Turns out he made the right decision as he was sentenced to time served amounting to the few hours in custody after surrendering to police in January.
