Carol’s Daughter Launches Disney’s The Princess & The Frog Product Line

Celebrity and Black owned cosmetic retailer commemorates First Black Disney Princess

Tiana

We’ve been following Disney’s The Princess and The Frog for a hot minute now. Now ordinarily Disney animation is not our thing but the upcoming movie is set to make black history as the film’s main character, Tiana is not only from the hood in New Orleans, but she also represents Disney’s first black Princess. (Jasmine was from Alladin was supposed to be Arab but apparently that didn’t count.)

In celebration of the opening,  Carol’s Daughter, a black-owned cosmetic line has inked a partnership to become the official beauty product brand of Disney’s The Princess and The Frog.  Carol’s Daughter, which is owned by Lisa Price and backed by star studded investors such as  Steve Stoute, Jada Pinkett, Will Smith, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Jimmy Iovine and Tommy Mottola will launch an exclusive new bath and body line inspired by Princess Tiana.

“This is the first time I’ll be able to take my daughter to a Disney movie where she’ll see a princess with skin her color,” said Stoute, Carol’s Daughter’s chief executive officer and managing director.

“African-American women have never been invited into the Disney experience – this is a major milestone for the Disney princess franchise,” Stoute continued. “It will be very exciting to take my daughter to see the Ariel that looks like her, whose hair moves just like hers, and whose skin is beautifully brown and celebrated. And given Lisa [Price's] story, it is especially appropriate that Carol’s Daughter is partnering with Disney for this project.”

The special collection will feature four products specially formulated for African-American hair and retail for $10 each.  The shampoo is made to care for fragile, dry hair, and contains aloe leaf juice. The conditioner also has aloe leaf juice, as well as sunflower seed and olive fruit oils to help detangle hair.

Each product’s packaging will highlight a special lesson that Tiana learns during the movie which will drop for limited release Nov. 25 and nationwide on Dec. 11.  If you’re interested you can cop the products at  Macy’s, Dillard’s and of course Carol’s Daughter stores.

These products are so elegant looking. Fit for a Disney princess, of course. I’m so much older now but I never cease to smile when I see products like these.

I think this is wonderful and about darn time ,I am of french-Canadian ,Scottish .Heritage so I know nothing about any other hair but straight with slight curls framing the face.My question is I have heard so many complain about Zee’s hair styles or lack of style .I have heard that in Ethiopia women prefer the hair of children left natural just combed out .And from all the Black females in the US I have heard that she should have it braided or pulled back or in pony tail or pigtails >I braided my daughters hair and also put it up in pigtails and pony tails .she is not yet in regular school and it seems to be out of her line of vision so why all the drama Her hair all ways looks clean and he clothes are always clean and well dressed . Small children hate having their hair messed with even by their grandma I know that for a fact .People learn very quickly to pick there battles while they still can shw will be grow up soon enough. then we will all know if it was as her self worth as you think ,I find her quit beautiful
