Music gear heads and Lady Gaga fans have been all excited about her partnership with super-producer Dr. Dre on the launch of her signature line of headphones.  Her new line dubbed Heartbeats by Lady Gaga is an extension of Dre’s popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphone partnership with Monster.  The line is said to differ from the flagship models in that they are designed to not only give users a high-performance headphone but also double as high-tech fashion accessory or attractive piece of jewelry!?.

Hmmmm…Headphones as jewelry?  That’s a stretch.

“In the deepest hour of the night, I confess to myself three things; I would die if I was forbidden to write, forbidden to love, or forbidden to fashion.”

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ok. I take it that was Lady Gaga expressing her motivation.

“Heartbeats embody the trinity of my human-being, with one additional vow: that SOUND matters. Wear heartbeats, love each other, and celebrate the art and lifestyle of music,” she went on to say.  

The headphones will be available in three separate versions, including a metal body with rose red jewel-shaped earpiece, metal body with all chrome jewel-shaped earpiece and black-on-black body and jewel-shaped earpiece design. The headphones are outfitted with a specially design stylish and tangle-free cable. Oooooooh!

Now while it might sound like I’m hating keep into account that they’ll sell for a very robust $99.95 to $149.95 which is the kicker. I was able to preview a pair and it looks to me that they’re just taking the ordinary ipod earbud or Sony’s high performance ear gasket headphone, bedazzling them and offering them in cool colors to appeal to women.  Throw in the very eccentric Lady Gaga and its got people buzzing and have created demand.  Buyer beware
