UFC’s Quinton Jackson lands B.A. Baracus A-Team Gig. Thoughts?
Is it just to expensive now a-days to hire an ACTOR to land a movie role?
After months of speculation and rumors UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has un-officially been cast to play the role of B.A. Baracus in the forthcoming big screen adaptation of “The A-Team.”
Everyone from Ice Cube, The Game, Common and Tyrese have been at some point linked to the role. According to The Vancouver Sun, Jackson arrived in the Canadian Province on Friday to prepare for the film shoot that is scheduled to last six weeks.
Jackson joins Bradley Cooper (Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck) and Liam Neeson (Hannibal) in the film which will be directed by Joe Carnahan. The movie, which was original intended to be directed by John Singleton is currently slated for June 11, 2010 release on 20th Century Fox.
While I doubt anyone has any idea if Jackson can act or not, from a look-alike’s perspective, what are your thoughts? Would you have prefered one of the rapper-turned actors to have secured the role? Perhaps someone else who wasn’t considered?

He seems to be big enough size-wise(jus’ going by the pic that you posted), but he has to be able to act(have the personality of B.A Baracus) & that is yet to be seen. PEACE!!!
If his bizarre act with that female reporter is any indication, he can “act”…
Thats WHACK!!! Im glad ol boi is getting that money but he was one of my favorite fighters in the UFC now he gone waste his time doing a roll in a movie that aint even gone make no money while he could be training and making that $$$$ doing what he knows he is good at. Take your shot at acting when your retired man, don’t waste time while you in ya prime and one of the MAJOR faces of the UFC!!!
At the end of the day its about the next big move. If you’re not familiar with MMA you’d have no idea who he is because I sure didn’t before he became linked with the flick. This only elevates his “celebrity” and for entertainers that’s all they really want.
I still think it was a bad career move. This movie is going to BOMB badly and will prolly end up being a straight to dvd flick. If your going to risk your status and career with your main bread winner you may as well do it with a movie that is going to do good. Keith Jardine was a extra on GAMER and Roger Huerta did the Tekken movie. They did it when it was a good time, not when they had a MAJOR fight scheduled in their hometown. UFC will prolly lose money, they specificaly put the fight card in Memphis because thats Rampage’s hometown and he was posed to bring in the ticket sales.
