Kevin Liles Steps Down From Post At Warner Music Group
No word on why but he will maintain a post with Warner
After five years as the Executive Vice President of Warner Music Group, Kevin Liles has announced that he will be stepping down from his position at the company. According to a company statement, Liles will remain with Warner, but will maintain his day-to-day duties. No word on the extent of his involvement moving forward.
In 2004, Liles joined Warner Music Group, home to Atlantic Records, Bad Boy Records, T.I.’s Grand Hustle label and oversaw the now popular 360-degree strategy that gives artists more access to endorsements and merchandising.
“In the past couple weeks I’ve made one of the most important decisions of my life,” Liles said in a statement, “to depart the Warner Music Group in order to focus more on new entrepreneurial endeavors in talent management, entertainment media, and my personal philanthropic and political passions.”
Previously Liles worked as the President of Def Jam and the Executive VP of Island Def Jam where he helped launch Def Jam South, Roc-A-Fella Records, and Murder Inc.

Wow. I wonder since he stepped down, how much of a paycut did he take? Well it doesn’t matter anyway. Maybe what he’ll be doing now is what he really wanted to do at heart. Kevin, good luck with that…..
