TRAILER: ‘Brick City’ [A Sundance Channel Documentary]
A five part television documentary about life in Newark, NJ
BRICK CITY, is a five-part documentary series from Executive Producer, Forrest Whitaker that captures the daily drama of a community striving to become a better, safer, stronger place to live. Against great odds, Newarks citizens and its Mayor, Cory A. Booker, fight to raise the city out of nearly a half century of violence, poverty and corruption.
Here’s a preview. Long-time Blood gang banger, Jiwe, author of War of the Bloods in My Veins tries to use his experiences as motivation for the young generation to choose a different path. Brick City will air daily on the Sundance Channel starting September 21st.
Here Jayda, a blood speaks about why she chooses to start a nonprofit mentoring group and how her romantic relationship with “Creep” from a rival Crip gang shows her the error of her ways.

Surprised no one commented on this. Looks dope.
