Newly Exhumed ‘Vibe’ Names Jermaine Hall New Editor-in-Chief
Hall will oversee Vibe Lifestyle Network which merges online and print formats
It looks like the new brass over at the “Vibe Lifestyle Network” aka the magazine formerly known as Vibe are getting the engine revved up. Today they officially announced Jermaine Hall as their new Editor-in-Chief of VIBE Magazine & Vibe.com.
Hall brings experience most previously as the Editor-in-Chief of (the now defunct and to remain defunct) booty rag, King Magazine. Prior to that, Hall served as Music Editor at The Source. Hall’s appointment marks his second go-around with Vibe where he served as Webmaster from 1997 – 1999.
I’m a little curious of the decision to be honest. With Vibe looking to make a splash I was looking for a bigger name with a more diversified experience given the new more global direction of the publication. Admittedly I don’t know much about Hall or the print format so I’ll reserve further judgment.
