Can you believe its been 13 years since Biggie was taken from us in Los Angeles and with him (some would argue) hip hop was too.  Well T’yanna Wallace, at 3-years-old was probably too young to exactly remember the shock, insuing tears and endless memorials but she knows the importance of her father’s legacy and has always kept him close to her heart literally.

On Monday, T’yanna celebrated her Sweet 16 Monday night with a huge party and along with her whimsical custom pink dress by Bronx designer Walter Steele and matching Nike’s, T’yanna wore a button over her heart paying tribute to her late, great daddy.

“I needed to have him here with me,” she told the New York Daily News, standing outside the very swanky lounge, Taj, in Manhattan’s Flatiron District.  “I feel like I’m all grown up now.”

So whose the favorite rapper of your favorite rapper’s daughter?  Kid Cudi who was scheduled to be the special guest performer.

“I’m excited,” she said with a big smile.  “I dressed up for him.  I got this little pretty dress just for him.”

Talk about strong genes.  She looks just like him with a wig. Its so interesting to me to see how even in the heir of Hip Hop Royalty, the evolution of the culture is complete and very apparent. Her father is arguably the greatest of all time and though she pays homage its almost as if she recognizes him as an artist, as her father but not a participant in the hip hop that she’s experiences today.  Do you feel me?
