Black Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Gets Locked Up
Even a black superhero isn’t immune from status quo
Walter Jones, the actor who played “Zack Taylor” or the black Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger was arrested over the weekend in Alabama for driving under the influence. According to TMZ, Jones was pulled over at 4 A.M. by Alabama State troopers in Huntsville. He was then arrested without incident, booked into a local jail and later released on bail.
Back in my early 20′s I used to be real militant and cynical in my thinking. I know more than I am now. But I remember thinking how it was so racist and stereotypically stereotypical (yes that does make sense) that the black man, need be suited up as the black ranger. I would later take solace in the fact that he looked the best when all was said and done.

well im black, and billy(blue) was my fav, simple because he was the smart one and so was I and wore glasses like myself. Then once Tommy(Green/White) came he took the show over so he was the best…!?! Do you know that !@$% still come on ABC on Saturday mornings, thee WORST!
