Diddy’s ‘Justin’s’ Restaurant Wanted By The IRS, Reportedly owe 7K+
Miscommunication or is Diddy’s assets facing financial trouble?
According to the Detroit News, On May 18th, The Internal Revenue Service filed the tax lien against Sean “Diddy” Combs Atlanta restaurant, Justin’s claiming it owes $7,373 in federal taxes. The restaurant, named after his first born son, opened in 1998 as the second in a franchise series that features a menu of upscale Southern and Caribbean cuisine. Its predecessor in New York City closed two years ago.
Diddy’s camp chaulks up the IRS’s inquiry to a series of errors claiming invoices were sent to the restaurant’s old corporate address in New York.
“The new address was on file with the IRS, so it is surprising this happened,” the spokesman said.
Also, Justin’s payroll management company (probably former at this point) mistakenly underpaid the restaurant’s taxes in 2007. However according to Diddy’s rep a $7,373 check has been cut and the situation rectified.

I’m siding with Diddy on this one.
.
They have to be talking about payroll taxes, and $7000 in payroll taxes is nothing. (especially when compared with LaVan Halkins, who stiffed the government for several million $).
.
As someone who pays payroll taxes, and has been on the receiving end of IRS screw-ups on more than one occasion, I can tell you: they are not that bright; they are run by their computers; and one computer doesn’t know what the other one is doing.
.
Other than that, I still say that celebrities should no own restaurants. It’s one thing to enjoy eating in a restaurant and think “it would be neat to own this place”; it’s another to actually know how to run one successfully. That’s why so many celeb eateries go broke, and that’s why the only ones that work are the ones that celebrities let other people run.
Yeah, when I look at our account ledger at the end of the month sometimes I wonder if the withdrawal is Payroll Tax or Salary. Its amazing how much they take.
I agree…do you really think Diddy was trying to get over on the gov’t for 7,500 or so dollars? the man can’t hide from anyone – c’mon!!!
Who knows. A $7500 float for 6 months can do a lot of things.
