Wendy Williams Drops Radio Gig to Focus On New National TV Talk Show

Posted by Juan

Though radio has been her bread and butter, the TV gig has been a childhood dream

Wendy Williams

On her nationally syndicated television show, longtime gossip talk radio host, Wendy Williams says she is leaving her daily radio program “The Wendy Williams Experience” at the end of the month to focus more time on her new television show.

There was much speculation that the her radio show would suffer as Williams focused on what she publicly admitted was a childhood ream. Starting July 13 “The Wendy Williams Show,” has been running nationally in syndication on FOX and UPN with re-runs being aired later on BET.  Williams has been broadcasting on WBLS-FM in New York since 2002 and has a national following across the country.

I’m a Wendy Williams Radio Fan, I know A lot of people dont like her or think she’s over the top, or a drag queen or whatever but I like the way she does her radio show. I’ve seen the television show a few times and I didn’t really take to it. IDK if this is the right move for her obviously TV is bigger than radio but radio is what got her to this point so to abandon it altogether is risky. But as another radio personality favorite of Mine Star of Star and Bucwild always says “If you want to launch big ships you have to go where the waters deep”

I think she’s been there…done that. She was the queen of that format of talk/ gossip radio and she wanted to challenge herself. She’s succeeded to this point. Why not take the next step, get deeper in the water as 4Pl put it.
