‘Apprentice’ Champ, Dr. Randal Pinkett Eyes NJ lieutenant Governor Gig

Season 4 winner says he’ll “consider running” for the position if and when an offer is made.

Season 4 Winner of Donald Trump and NBC‘s Apprentice Dr. Randal Pinkett says he’ll consider running for lieutenant governor in New Jersey if – and when – an offer is made.  He tells the Associated Press he’s met with Gov. Jon Corzine, but the governor has not asked him to be his running mate.

Pinkett is an African-American businessman who most recently co-chaired Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s transition team.  He is also the former founder, president and CEO of BCT Partners, a multi-million dollar management, technology and policy consulting firm based in Newark, N.J., that works with corporations, government agencies, philanthropic and nonprofit organizations. He holds five academic degrees in engineering, business and technology including a B.S. from Rutgers University, an M.S. from the University of Oxford in England as a Rhodes Scholar, and an M.S., M.B.A. and Ph.D. from MIT.  He is also a former college championship track and field athlete.

Although obviously more than qualified for the job, Corzine has reportedly backed off consideration of Pinkett after the choice received negative reaction from some Democrats and newspaper editorial pages (SEE RACISM.)  Corzine must make his lieutenant governor selection by Monday.

Corzine’s opponent, Republican Chris Christie has picked Monmouth County Sheriff Kim Guadagno as his running mate.

One Response to ‘Apprentice’ Champ, Dr. Randal Pinkett Eyes NJ lieutenant Governor Gig

Bad move. My man is trying to be “jack of all trades” and Master (pun intended) of None. I think he needs to humble himself and realize that earning 5 degrees means nothing if he’s into himself. You really shouldn’t get more than 2 degrees if you aren’t going to utilize everything you learned. Degrees are not bottle caps; they are DEGREES! We are blessed to be a blessing, not braggards.
