FORBES: Chris Rock #2 Paid Comedian in the Business
banked an estimated $42 million last year
Forbes recently released their list of top-earning comedians and Chris Rock landed at the No. 2 slot raking in an estimated $42 million between June 2008 and June 2009.
Perhaps his most lucrative venture to date is Rock’s current worldwide stand-up tour which made stops in the UK, Australia and South Africa as well as the U.S.
A heavy film work load that included roles in children’s flick, “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” the upcoming “Death at a Funeral” and “Grown Ups” helped boost his bottom line while his new top-rated HBO comedy special “Kill the Messenger” keeps him honest with his roots.
Additionally The CW has re-uped for another season of his autobiographical sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris,” and will begin airing in syndication. He has also secured yet another book deal with Grand Central Publishing.
Dry funnyman, Jerry Seinfeld once again tops the list with $85 million banked.
