Beyonce’s Skin Bleaching Cosmetic Company, L’Oreal Found Guilty Of Racism

Posted by Juan

Ads more evidence to the Highbrid Nation claim of racism

L’Oreal Beyonce

In a shocking development it seems that the courts have supported evidence of Highbrid Nation’s racial accusations against L’Oreal following the company’s apparent whitening of Beyonce Knowles‘ skin in an advertisement.  The cosmetic giant has reportedly been found guilty of racial discrimination by a French court over its all-white recruitment policy for its shampoo sales teams.

In 2000, Garnier, L’Oreal’s beauty division, was looking to recruit a sales team for the Fructis brand. Allegedly management issued a brief that candidates be required to be “BBR”, an acronym for the colors of the French flag and widely used to signify someone who is white and of French descent. It also wanted the women sized between 8 and 12.

The case was brought before the La Cour de Cassation, the French supreme court, by anti-racist group SOS Racisme after it was discovered that only 4.65% of sales staff hired were black, Asian or Arab despite those groups covering 38.7% of potential candidates.L’Oreal and its recruitment consultancy Adecco, have both been fined £25,500 each.

Aishwarya Rai

The case brings further credence to our claims from last year of L’Oreal’s discriminatory practices.  Often times we laugh and say that’s Highbrid Nation just kicking up dust and stirring the pot but when injustice occurs those responsible often expect that response and hence why they think little of their actions.  Lets not forget it was also L’Oreal that was trying to force its brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai to appear in a campaign for a skin whitening cream, a request she vehemently denied.

Isn’t white the standard of beauty, tho? Everyhting white is pretty and good. Everything black ugly and bad.
No self-loving woman would use skin bleaching products, or…would she?

Interesting comment. It’s easy to look at the comment and say sarcasm BUT…..BUT!!! What if they did put that stuff on the market?! Would women buy it?! People say one thing and do another all the time.

thats not very nice, black the colour might make things look ugly sometimes but so does white. white and black are all ugly colours and plus white and black people arent actually white or black.

I jus’ think that instead of trying to lighten a darker girl’s skin, they should jus’ get the kind of girls that they want…that’s not right to me. PEACE!!!

even Aishwarya Rai is light by Indian standards. the whole l’oreal issue is funny as hell. Are our women buying their products ?

  5. joebloe says:

What gets me is that they would use a black woman in the first place, and THEN try to doctor the photo. Just wrong.

  6. Emerson Diaz says:

Well, it’s business. They want that money! Using a black model is a marketing ploy in order to get our money.
    .
This speaks to the bigger issue: why would black women want a skin-bleaching cream? Hundreds of years of discrimination, scorn, and being made to feel ugly because of their skin color! and not only by whites, but by other black people as well! The world runs on a class/skin color system where white is at the top and black is at the bottom. Period. We live the stereotypes on tv…My fine-ass black wife, who is about 4-5 shades darker than me, when she sees a big, black dude on tv, sometimes says “I’d hate to run into him at night in a dark alley.” This is a touchy issue that stirrs up emotions in black people…

  7. skinnygirluver says:

I agree there is a bigger issue here especially when you consider that there is a billion dollar industry based in tanning products and tannning beds. Why is it acceptable for people to become darker but not lighter? Why is being lighter a race issue but being darker not one? Some White people are so White that the tanning products would make them look silly the same way that some Black people are so dark that using skin-lighting products would look silly but most of our complexions are in the middle. Being darker or lighter could be an option for most of the population. Is it racism or just good business to try and make money off of “non” tan as well as tan?

i think you guys should go back and collect all the race issues and do another website or blog or whatever and bring this crap to major light. from 8 to 80, dumb, cripple and crazy. evryone has a voice and should be heard. this topic goes way back to when we first landed here in (jamestown). perhaps even b4 that. after all, it IS a social study. And, its definately not just in the US, Euro(pe) either. its all over the word.

I just think because L’Oreal products were invented for the white race, so to target their demographics you use white women to market the products. Just like NoLye relaxers are for the black women. Simple as that, but… do I think it was wrong to use Beyonce and portray her something that she’s not… absolutely. But then agin those endoresments will get you all the time… won’t they Beyonce!!!

  11. Carmelle says:

we should see our kind as equal to the white race here’s why. white women have long silky hair and white skin. Black women age better and has a round ass (hour glass shape). black women want lond hair we go out and buy it. white women want a big butt they make a doctors appointment
