Doo Doo Fashion: The NBA Draft Edition

Posted by Juan

Every year, Draft picks go up to shake David’s Sterns hand and make a fool of themselves in the process

Last Thursday night, college basketball’s best took part in the moment that every hoops fan dreams about as a kid, taking your place on the stage and shaking the hand of the commissioner as your name is called announcing your placement in the year’s NBA draft.  While little has changed to that end over the years,  the extensive media coverage has made the night as much about fashion as it about business or basketball.  And while wearing a suit while rocking a baseball hat is a no no in almost any circle some do it better than others.  Lets take a look at this year’s worst.

Psycho T

Tyler Hansbrough

The Suits fine.  Its just when you have a size 32″ neck your shirt/collar game has to be on point.  He might have been better off with a turtle neck.  Sorry bro, doo do fashion.

Terrence Williams

Terrence Williams

Not Too much to say here.  This get up is all wrong from the black on Black to the Diddy Shinny Suit.  I hope his game on the court is better than the gear.

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry

I’ve been called biased on this blog a lot but even as a Golden State Warrior Fan I’m going to have to cry foul on my man Stephen Curry.  Its not that the suit is bad when you already look 12 years old you can’t get too crazy or it looks like your mom bought you the 3 piece pinstripe special for $24.99 at K-Mart.

James Harden

James Harden

While I like the idea, James Harden unfortunately doesn’t quite pull this off.  The bow tie and the blazer are cool but perhaps his look is little to sheik for the baseball cap accessory.  I don’t know I’m sure others would argue otherwise.

James Harden is the worse. He looks like he’s about to sell David Stern some Bean Pies and nothing is matching up. On Steph Curry before I read your description I was thinking K-Mart all the way. Then at the end you threw in the 24.99 at K-mart.
That’s the suit my mother would put me in for church when I was 10 and she thought I was looking good, and I was….for a 10 year old.

As a man that loves fashion, I’ll have to say that it’s not the ballers fault. Most have no idea where they’ll end up so, they can’t pull off the hat as an accessory to the rest of the clothing. Harden would be perfect wearing a cream cap (although a porkpie would be better).

I loved the look as soon as I saw it. Shows his confidence with the bowtie. In all my years watching the draft, I don’t remember another bowtie. My Muslim bros tend to wear a skinny bow BTW.

TYLER LOOKED VERY HOT ON DRAFT NIGHT. THAT IDIOT BLAKE GRIFFIN WAS THE WORST DRESSED AND HIS PURPLE SHIRT DID NOT LOOK GOOD ON TELEVISION. TYLER’S SUIT WAS IN MARVELOUS STYLE AND HE WAS VERY DIGNIFIED. NEXT TO STEPHEN CURRY HE LOOKED BETTER THAN EVERYBODY.

Yikes Debbie what were you watching. Black might have had the best gettup of the night. Yeah it was purple but it matched and best yet, FIT! See that’s the problem with these big guys. They can’t buy off the rack so all their suits have to be tailored which SHOULD mean they should fit better but some just don’t look right, Psycho T is one of them.
