I’ll be the first to tell you.  All these hip hop inspired clothing lines and liquor brands are not only silly but a waste of valuable energy and resources.  So when Lil Jon announced the launch of his own vinyard, Little Jonathan Winery he automatically got pigeonholed into the same category as all the other ghetto artist inspired businesses ventures.

But in a true foot in the mouth moment, it seems that Lil John’s wine is actually GOOD!  According to Ballerstatus.com, the rapper/producer was honored at the Los Angeles International Wine and Spirits Competition where he took home a Silver Medal for his 2006 Central Coast Chardonnay.  As a casual wine enthusiast myself I must say I’m impressed.  Having never tried the wine, I owe Lil John not only an apology but perhaps also my one time patronage…that is if I can find it on shelves.

In a classic Lil John moment, he graciously and eloquently announced the accolade via Twitter.
