? Of the Night: Rate President Obama’s Job Performance
6 Months Into his administration has he lived up to the hype?
Just prior to his inauguration, Parade published a really cool and unique type of letter written from then President-Elect, Barack Obama to his daughters about what he hoped for them and all the children of America.
These are the types of cool things we’ve come to expect from our President. Unlike his recent predecessors he hasn’t let his very important job description deter him from being a REAL person interacting within the world. We’ve seen him grabbing a bite at one of D.C.’s Ben’s Chili Bowl. He’s chimed in on his beloved sports world by sharing his NCAA tournament picks on ESPN. He made headlines after grabbing a beer and taking in a Wizards game, he recently took his wife on a romantic date in New York City and even makes sure to spend some QT with his two young daughters. All of this has endeared us to the man that is our president.
While he might look like us the TRUTH of the matter is he inherited a very difficult situation which has only gotten worse since his arrival. The economy is showing only very small signs of life, North Korea’s nuclear capabilities threaten a potential World War III, troops are still dying in Iraq and Iran has now become a cause for concern.
With all that said, the good and the bad. What grade would you give the President? Why?

You got me on this one, Juan! I’m not even remotely qualified to rate the president’s job performance. I have no idea all the elements at play for him to make the decisions he has to make; also, all the pressure that he is under. I will say this, he has said the right things to the media and he seems to be a cool, down to earth man.
that’s alright for a homey but does that make a good president?
Not necessarily…but I’d much rather have that than redneck-Bush! I do think that President Obama was right on in the way he reached out to the Arab countries. However, I don’t like how he is continuing his predecessors’ unwavering support of the state of Israel, regardless of anything they do. However, support to other countries comes with stipulations. But, as I said previously, I have no idea all the elements at play for him to make the decisions he has to make.
The Isreal thing is about money. There’s a lot of money tied up in this country from Isreal.
He is doing a great job. 1/2 of it is just the fact that he is president. Even in 2009 the president can have an influence over people in the most basic way. An intelligent, family oriented man in a position of power that made people believe and emotionally invest in this country. His issues and agenda are slowly being pushed and put into place (health care, guantanamo, economy, foreign relations). I love what is going on with our foreign policy right now especially with Iran. He is trying to stop us from being on our own all the time, when we need the support of the rest of the world with N.Korea and Iran.
