Bravo Announces Launch of ‘Real Housewives’ in D.C.
Following the success of the Atlanta installment could Bravo be looking for chocolate in the chocolate city?
Following the success of the Atlanta installment could Bravo be looking for chocolate in the chocolate city? Bravo has been LIVING off its “Real Housewives” franchise. The series which originated with their Orange County crew was developed to give a reality spin on ABC‘s “Desperate Housewives” series but the show and its following has completely taken off. Following in the successful footsteps the network has since rolled out Housewives in New York City, New Jersey and most controversially in Atlanta. So why stop there? Yesterday, Bravo announced that its looking for women in the Chocolate City for the newest installment the “Real Housewives of Washington D.C.” The details are very sketchy at this point as the show is in its infancy and there is no cast as yet
“We’re tapping personalities who are among Washington, D.C.’s influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders-the people who rub elbows with the most prominent people in the country and easily move in the city’s diverse political and social circles,” Frances Berwick, Bravo’s executive VP, announced Tuesday morning.
As we’ve talked about several times, The Atlanta installment is still the franchise’s highest rated series and given its African American cast has developed its own audience and very loyal following. I would trust given the ethnic make up of D.C. that Bravo will attempt to recapture that magic by looking to at least partially include black cast members. As I said, casting has yet to begin so we’ll have to wait and see.

section 8 bitches wit money.
he said it not me.
@Juan the fact that he said it and not you doesn’t make it right.
When are they going to have something come out of the exciting areas…like Detroit, Palm Beach, Miami, and Atlanta deserves a second round…so does Cali…but this time they could do L.A. or something.
