Rapper DMX was released from Maricopa County Jail late yesterday afternoon (May 13) in the Phoenix, Arizona area. DMX was serving a 90-day sentence from charges stemming from acts that involved drugs, fraud and animal cruelty.  His stay in the jail stretched a little longer than 90 days due to charges tacked on for getting into a altercation with a corrections officer. While locked up X gave a jailhouse interview in which he stated:

“I’m gonna start a [Christian ministry] TV show called Pain and Perseverance, it’s about how I can reach people that the average person can’t reach because I’m grounded,” he stated. “I’m going to give my first sermon, in the church. That’s going to be incredible for me and hopefully the congregation of that church. I’ve completed my gospel album. On every one of my albums there’s been a gospel song and prayer. Because of my image those songs are never made singles except my sixth album where they did ‘Lord Give Me a Sign.’”

No comment or press release was given at time of release.

hasn’t he been planning this for like 10 years now?

  2. Emerson Diaz says:

Suuure he found religion in jail. That is why he got in a fight with a C.O…..just another hustle.

  3. B.E.B. says:

Why can’t X just stick to what he was doing in ’98? He was killing the game and I know he still has that fire in him. I ain’t trying to knock him for doing a gospel album but if he’s still going to curse then why bother? No one will take him seriously….

  4. Shakes says:

lol church is already F@#$’d up so why not let him be a preacher? everyone else seems to think they can do it. Now a days the kats that aint going to church seem to be more sane than the ones that go.

  5. 4REAL says:

Ya’ll leave DMX alone and let him smoke his crack and elude the police. He’s done.
