T.I.’s Protégé Firing Irrelevant: Alfamega Jailed When ‘Informed’ of Pink Slip
In addition to being outted as DEA informant and fired from Recrod label rapper facing 10+ Years On unrelated gun charges
Yesterday we were debating whether T.I.’s actions firing his covert informant turned rap protégé was justified. As it turns out Cedric Zellars aka Alfamega actually actually was handed his pink slip through the prison bars of a Georgia prison.
Get this, in addition to all the other snitching shenangans, the former DEA informant was sitting in jail awaiting trail on an April 29 felony gun and obstruction charges following a wild confrontation with cops.
According to an Atlanta Police Department report obtained by The Smoking Gun police found a stolen and loaded .40 caliber Sig Sauer handgun in Zellars’s SUV during a search of the vehicle during a traffic stop.
After cops discovered the gun, Zellars became “combative and non-compliant” and sought to flee. Officer Antonio Blasini pepper sprayed Zellars in the face, but the substance “had no immediate effect.” Cops chased Zellars to a nearby parking garage, where he was struck with a police baton, again to no effect. In a bid to shake his pursuers, Zellars weaved through parked cars and climbed over the garage wall, jumping “25-30 feet to the ground… The fall “resulted in an injury that appeared to be pieces of bone protruding from his ankle,” cops noted.
Zellars was released on Saturday when he made bail but has yet to be indicted on the charges. If the gun case is found to be a violation of his previous agreement with Federal Procecutors, Zellars could easily be facing 10+ years. And you thought you were having a bad week?
