Neo-Soul’s Dwele Teams with McDonalds For New McCafe Commerical
Ba da ba ba ba
McDonalds is going in hard with there new McCafe premium latte marketing efforts. And I guess they feel they have an angle with the young soulful jazz cafe finger snapping, poetry reading, cultured crowd. They’ve linked up with Neo-Soul vocalist Dwele (Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights”) on a new commercial I happened to catch last night while watching the NBA playoffs.
I’m not sure if McDonalds is trying to get you to buy some overpriced and overhyped coffee or trying to sexually seduce you with subliminal sexy whip cream references.
This, however is not the first collabo between the improbably couple, Last year Dwele dropped an extended radio spot jingle for the pending McCafe. The baselines and soulful lyrics mesh nicely with the signature Ba da ba ba ba ID and almost make you forget you’re listening to a commerical. Nicely done.

It’s one of the most aggressive campaigns in McDonalds history including some nice Urban targeted marketing using a TV spot featuring singer Dwele. Check it out. Cuz I got Highbrid Nation. […]

big ups
Great catch right here. I’ve been seeing this McCafe stuff everywhere but didn’t know they had this Dwele tie-in
WHO IS THE BROTHER DOING THE COMMERCIAL? HIS PERFORMANCE MAKES IT, IN MY OPINION! Dewele seals the deal, make no mistake; but, there is no deal without the colorfully melodic, rhythmic cadence of the bad ass poet!
hot, hoT, hOT, HOT!!!!! This commercial is off the chain! I don’t drink coffee but damn, I might try some.
