New Details on Special Edition Eminem/ Punisher XXL Comic Mashup

Posted by Juan

All part of XXL Magazine, Shady Records and Marvel Comics collaborative effort

Eminem Punisher

A couple weeks ago we gave you your First Look at Eminem on the cover of XXL Magazine dipped with a Punisher theme.  Well now the association with the comic book character is coming more into the light.  As part of his extensive marketing effort to resurrect his career following a three-year absence, Slim Shady has teamed up with Marvel Comics and XXL magazine in celebration of his new album “Relapse” to create an Eminem inspired storyline called Eminem/Punisher: Kill You.

Inside XXL magazine’s June issue which hits newstands May 5th, fans will receive part one of the special  8-page Punisher comic book starring Eminem

The storyline, written by Fred Van Lente (Amazing Spider-Man) with art by Salvador Larroca (Invincible Iron Man) is set in Em’s native Detroit.  The rapper is said to get into an altercation with The Punisher and his old enemy Barracuda following a stage performance. The second half conclusion will be available exclusively on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited (www.marvel.com/eminem) for free starting May 5th.

“When we learned that Eminem is a fan and collector of Marvel comics, we could only imagine what would happen if The Punisher and Slim Shady met up in the Marvel Universe,” said Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. “This was a unique partnership and the team had a blast working with Eminem and incorporating the rapper into the Marvel fold.”

Eminem’s Relapse is slated to drop May 19th.
