Cleveland Show Gets Renewed For Season 2 Even Though There Was Never A Season 1
That must be a really great show!
I honestly don’t understand how TV execs make their decisions sometimes. My personal favorite show and critically loved, Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles is constantly in danger of being canceled. All the while other shows seem to skate by without even a thought of ever getting canceled. Seems like The Cleveland Show is going to be one of those shows.
If you aren’t aware already The Cleveland Show is a spin off of Family Guy starring Peter’s neighbor and best friend Cleveland. If you are wondering how you could have managed to miss it, don’t worry, it hasn’t aired yet. It was originally scheduled to be a mid season replacement but was pushed back until the fall. That hasn’t stopped Fox from ordering a season 2 of the series though.
Fox claims it has to be proactive about renewing the show because animated series take some long to produce. So that means that no matter how bad The Cleveland Show is we will at least get two seasons of it. Chances are it will at least be watchable as it is from the same mastermind behind Family Guy and American Dad, Seth McFarlane.
Another interesting note is that The Cleveland Show will likely be the only prime time show on network with a mostly black cast which includes Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long amongst others (though the main character Cleveland is voiced by a white guy). So I guess that’s worth something.
FILED IN TV

I feel the same way man. Sarah Conner was one of my favorite shows! I don’t know why they’re even putting it on the chopping block. You would think with the new Terminator movie hype that the show would be safe. Only time will tell…..
Definitely a befuddling decision from a business perspective. However, I think that they are on to something with this. You must realize that shows like “House of Payne” are awful as well, but when there’s a dearth of black programming, folks watch whatever is available. I just hope that this isn’t the case with “The Cleveland Show”. Great job, Mike!
I do not know why color matters.. A show is a show. It depends on the viewers not the race of the characters on the shows. Come on guys grow up!
It DOES matter because whether you like it or not, people of different ethnic backgrounds tend to watch different shows. Are you aware that 80% of people who go and see a tyler Perry movie are black? Are you aware that over 90% of Family Guy’s audience is white? And that when the show was originally test marketed, 83% of whites loved or liked it, while only 34% of blacks did.
I’m tired of idiots like you trying to be politically correct and say that race has nothing to do with anything. Guess what? Go to a U2 concert and count how many black people are in the audience. Then count the white people at a Method Man show.
yeah…. I like the cleveland show, It’s not about race or color the jokes are funny! and Ralo is amazing ^^
Family guys audience isn’t 90 percent white alot of minoritys also like it
