USA Today is dispelling a report published by the Detroit Free Press stating that NBA guard Allen Iverson had been banned from two area Detroit for displaying disruptive behavior.According to USA Today, Greektown casino spokesman Riley Meredith and Jamine Dickens of the MGM Grand told the Detroit Free Press that Iverson was not banned and in fact didn’t know of any incident that would have lead to such action.Chris McCosky’s original report however viciously claims that a dispute broke out over Iverson losing money at the tables.

The NBA is looking into a disturbance at Greektown that involved one of Iverson’s body guards. Iverson may have been trying to act as a peacemaker but his body guard was involved in some kind of tussle.Iverson, though, has been banned mostly for his boorish behavior. He is a bad loser, and he loses a lot, often throwing his chips or cards at the dealer. He has been warned about improper behavior at the tables repeatedly. He is often loud and disruptive, according to witnesses, rude to dealers, other players and the wait staff.

Iverson’s team the Piston’s have underachieved this year and are not expected to advance very far this season in the impending NBA playoffs as they had in years past.  Many fans and local press have blamed this years in-season acquisition of Iverson for team leader, Chauncey Billups for disrupting the teams chemistry.  So assuming the story is indeed false, one wouldn’t have to look far to find the motive for the infomant who might have had an ax to grind.
