Lil Bow Wow Says He’s Retiring From Making Albums

Posted by Mike "Evorgleb" Belgrove

After posting low first week sales Bow Wow says that this was his last album anyway.

Not too long ago I talked about how Lil Bow Wow‘s new album had a horrible first week in sales. It barely did over 18,000. One of the things I touched on in that blog post was the effect something like that could have on an ego the size of Bow Wow’s. So what was Bow Wow’s response to the sales you ask? Well, Bow Wow is quitting and has decided New Jack City II will be his last album.

It’s a little odd that Bow Wow would decide that he was retiring after his last album drops instead of before. Thus it is hard not to deduce that he’s retiring because of those low sales. Instead he’ll be concentrating on acting (as we all remember how he made Tokyo Drift a must see) and designing clothes.

Should an artist even be overly concerned with album sales in today’s age where all the money is in touring anyway?

If you ask me these artists shouldn’t even make albums. Just drop a new single every month and constantly tour. It’d work out much better for them and they could save themselves the embarrassment of low album sales.

Anyway, check out this video where Bow Wow talks about his future plans.

  2. Zack Isaacs says:

Maybe he’ll go to college or something. He already has the industry experience, so it won’t be too hard for him to rise up the ranks. Even if he doesn’t want a Bachelor’s degree, he should at least go for an Associate’s. It couldn’t hurt.

  3. ron g says:

LOL he a funny dude but still rep the OH Dime so he good wit me. 100

  4. The Sponsor says:

Funny part? He is still a better rapper than Gucci Mane and OJ Simpson or whatever that fool’s name is. He just comes off “extra”.

  5. Tina says:

Very funny. He should have thought about retiring before he released the album. Look at him, why the hell is he sitting with a backpack on in a chair? And we’re supposed to be taking him serious? He looks like he’s getting ready to skip off to school.

  6. Jungle says:

he has enough money. i think he should go to shcool. get a real degree . he is only 22 years old. I thought he was much younger then that.

  9. Tami says:

Ya’ll he been talking ’bout leaving the music biz since before this record even drop. There are some terrible rappers out there that would love to even put out 2 records and dream of seven! I mean Bow ain’t the greatest, but his shit is better than a list of fools out here now. And first week sales don’t always mean gold or platinum either.
