Turkish Anchor Reports On Obama In Blackface
Racism?
A Turkish neanderthal decided to wear “blackface” while doing a “news” report about President Barack Obama‘s trip to the country. Funny…nope.
“Welcome, Mr. Obama. You took our hearts with your hospitality. We appreciate your kindness. We will do whatever America asks of us, as friends. Now, we ask the same of you,” the anchor said roughly translated.
While its not clear if the broadcast was in the same vain as some of Comedy Central’s news show, the network apparently was known for such shtick.
There have even been some insulting reports (BuzzFeed) stating that the blackface is meant to be “a metaphor for the way the Bush administration “darkened” the face of the Turkish public, and how the anchor hopes Obama will turn things around.” I guess we were all born yesterday too.
While its important, given the international scope, to remain cognizant of cultural relativism this is clearly a slap in the face.
I’m sure some will say this is just silly Euro stuff. Even if you disregard the racial implications because they don’t always translate internationally this is still disrespectful of America.
Barack Obama is our President not an entertainer or Page Six regular. If this was the administrator of Turkey would they have thought twice about making that happen?

But we’d be wrong if we bombed his piece of shit country, build a permenant military installation and rewrote his constitution.
He better watch out – Black or not, Obama can rename Turkey as part of the “axis of evil” and make things hot and heavy over there.
We just don’t have time to picket every act of racism. So, I’ll leave it like this: there’s one thing under his waist that he will never be able to make look “black”.

Racism in other countries is different than it is here. You don’t take that into account?
Everyone knows Turkey is the armpit of the world – they’ll sell their mothers if you waive a $5 in their face. As for this anchor, I say “go to hell and get F^^k’d”!
