Epic Fail Alert!: Little Bow Wow’s New Album Sells Just Over 18,000 In First Week

Posted by Mike "Evorgleb" Belgrove

Ouch. that really has to hurt.

As of right now this is still rumor but I’m hearing that Lil Bow Wow sold just 18,586 units in the first week of New Jack City II‘s release. To put this in perspective for you, that’s like 981,414 less than what Lil Wayne did with Carter III in its first week. That’s a tremendous failure. An album’s first week is usually the strongest for sales so it’s just downhill from here. I’ve seen artists with higher numbers than him get dropped for not having strong sales.

Lil Bow Wow has been known to not only be arrogant but emotional. That guy’s pride has to be crushed. So who’s willing to bet that he’s somewhere in a bed crying while Omarion gently pets his hair and tells him, “it will be okay”?

Of course most of the blame can be attributed to the fact that Lil Bow Wow sucks but I’d like to think that part of it has to be from that dumb album title. New Jack City II? People probably saw it on shelves and thought it was a soundtrack for a straight to DVD film.

GAMBLE! LMAO! Shout out to Marcus!

  2. ca$h says:

    what album?

  3. naysayer says:

I am sure he will bounce back. I think we’ve boxed the poor kid into a corner. We loved when he was small, hated him as he got bigger. Not that he did anything wrong. Surely he is guilty of less than 50cent or Rick Ross. He just let someone write his raps.

So he grows an ego to protect himself, and we hate him more. He starts writing for himself and he is pretty good – and we hate him even more.

Sure, he is kinda wack, but imagine being Lil Romeo or Souljah Boy. Now those are careers that will surely fade out over time.

  4. kenyun says:

ONE WORD DESCRIBE THIS SUBJECT (BOOTY)….LOL

  5. TheBolB says:

Aye you just said that people don’t buy albums anymore, lol

  6. B.E.B. says:

Lets be realistic people. No matter what this cat does, he’ll always be considered that “kiddie rapper”. The streets don’t feel or respect him because he’s had an easy life. What real or bad experience has he gone through in his rich life other than not knowing what car to buy or what shoes to wear? He can try to front like he’s hard or claim to be a “G” with them tats, but this dude is softer than silk! His album didn’t sell because he’s trying to be something he’s not. Face it Bow, you’re a bubblegum rapper. Take this as a dose of reality and get out the game. We don’t want you and hip hop don’t need you!

  7. Cahmodity says:

GAMBLE you silly as hell son!

  8. khalil amani says:

BOW WOW has been a pampered kid all his effin life! from age 5 on up appearing on Arsenio Hall and many other mediums…

“New Jack City” implies “hood,” “drug game” Wesley Sipes type shit. Wrong name for his album ’cause bow wow ain’t never lived that kinda of life! Who are the idiots that allowed him to try and Rick Ross us? Stupid mofos!!

the negro left his lane… smh!

  9. Jungle says:

B.E.B Preach it son. I totally agree with your statement and I don’t think you are being harsh or mean at all, your statement was 100% honest. Lil Bow Wow, or bow wow, whatever you want to call him is a contadiction to the game. First, there isn’t anything ‘New Jack City’ about this kid, he tries way too hard to be hard…that’s soft!!! Yeah, another thing, what’s the deal with all the tattoos……isn’t he 12 years old or something!!!

Should have called the album “New WACK City”

  10. TheBolB says:

He should’ve taken the Souljah Boy route with his music. There is nothin wrong with NOT being gangster especially when people know that you aren’t. If you look @ his interviews & read about the controversy that he has been in, he has napoleon complex. He’s jealous of other young artists, probably b/c they have more talent than him, & it shows. Make lady songs…get on a good sitcom put the mic down young man
    -B.

  11. Also, I forgot to mention that this is his very first album to have a Parental Advisory label on it. So goes to show the change in direction he was looking to make with this project..

  12. M.Y. says:

Wow 18,000 copies! I underestimated bow wow I didn’t even think he would sell this much.

Bow wow’s problem is he doesn’t know what he wants. He wants to be seen as a matured rapper but still hangs on to his kiddie raps and cameos with Souljah Boy and the like. he needs to do a song with actual matured rappers and not his daddy Jermaine, it’s time to let that business plan go. The “lil wayne and baby” blueprint is not going to fly twice.

  13. adifuluv says:

Congrats to Ciara! definite upgrade to 50cent.

  14. dutchmaster3005 says:

    bow wow …kill urself

  15. lechatnoir says:

hum.. I was never hating on little bow wow.But his last 3 albums were not worth my bandwidth and this point i didn’t even bother download a single and I have yet to watch the video that introduces that NJC 2.

I don’t know I think he needs to take a 4 year hiatus and write a good double album and think of a good video concept .He can afford the hiatus . I hear he own quite a few homes already. I will not be able to pay off my mortgage until I am like 55 or so lol!
