First Look: Ciara’s Fantasy Ride… Again

Posted by Mike "Evorgleb" Belgrove

No you are not experiencing Deja Vu

I’m even more confused. Not too long ago I showed you guys the very disappointing cover to Ciara‘s new album Fantasy Ride. However now I’m getting sent a different cover which is also being called the official artwork for the album. This cover is also kinda weak though. So is this one the real cover or is it the other. Is one a standard version and the other is a special edition? And do we even care since most wont buy the album anyway?

With all she’s got going on with her sex appeal and sick body whoever put this together should get a pink slip if they haven’t gotta downsized already. I’m thinking more like King Magazine cover.

  2. Foxy Brown says:

It’s actually very original. It was designed by Bernard Chang who works on the Wonder Woman cartoon on Marvel Comics. Something different from your usual R&B covers.

And speak for yourself, a lot of people will support Ciara. She’s a talented and exciting young artist.

Also maybe you should research your posts firsts before asking your readers a inane hundred questions to compensate for poor research. I could have found out all the information about the two covers with a simple google search.

    Lazy article.

It’s easier to take cheap shots than to write a good blog. We need to do better.

    • You jump on me for involving the readers of the site? Anyone who knows anything about blogging knows that a good blogger doesn’t just spew out information, he/she talks to the readers and allows them to participate in the story. I actually did this post knowing about Bernard Chang helping Ciara develop her “Super C” persona. However I haven’t been able to find anything that says that he actually did the cover. Just the inside artwork. And by the way there is no Wonder Woman cartoon. Chang was an artist on the Wonder Woman comic book for DC (not Marvel as you said) though he only did a couple of issues. If you don’t believe me, Google it. If you can find a credible source that says he did the cover itself, please pass it along.

On a related note, here’s a video with Ciara and Chang talking about the inside artwork.

i like it. im a comic geek tho. don’t tell nobody.

I like the cover, it’s a relief from all of the half nakedness we see all the time from female artists. I personally would’ve made her into a comic and along with the release of the album have a comic book that is based on the character Super C as a limited edition piece.

I love the last sentence….Are we going to buy the album anyway?! 90% NO!! But we’ll be downloading songs.

  7. blkruby says:

I dont like the cornrows. She looks to strong in the face for that hairstyle. They should have left her usual weave and did the picture. Too me still to simple for an album cover in a sense. The word fantasy, so much creativity could come from that.

I am jut wondering if they decided to stick that little “C” hard in the background in the end. it just sticks out.
