Birdman says Lil Wayne’s New Album Is Not Rock But He’s A Rockstar
Yeh I know, it doesn’t make too make sense to me either.
While talking to the soon to be out of business Vibe, Birdman discussed the only thing that makes him relevant to anything, his relationship to Lil Wayne.
“It’s not a rock record. That’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a rock star.”
“He can rap, he can sing, he’s just an artist. I don’t think no one will ever be greater [than Wayne] because I don’t think no one puts in the time or the quality. If someone do come along, can you imagine what he’ll have to do? He got to put out on thousand mixtapes, do a thousand records [and] sell 100 million records. 2Pac, Jay-Z and Biggie didn’t get to the shit Wayne’s done.”
I don’t want to put words in anyone’s man kissing mouth but it sounds like Birdman is saying that Lil Wayne is the greatest rapper of all time. However at the same time he’s saying that Wayne is a rock star. Can the greatest emcee be a rock star?

Ca$h, for once I will have to agree with you Wayne hot, period. Like I don’t know how anyone could say that his album was trash or not even great (digressing) very good. The production alone made his album hot. Not to mention the lyrics..I think that the anti-wayne people dislikes him b/c of his age, & also his presentation. Wayne is young & most people that watched that line that separates rap & hip-hop disappear are his age & older. Naturally people don’t really respect hip-hop artist that are young or younger than oneself, so….
&&&&&!!! If you really just listen to Wayne lyrics & not the (rah, rah, rah) that he adds to it, the lyrics! Bol crazy, double meanings, metephors, homonyms, synonyms lol, idk..
Now-a-days rapper/hip-hop artists have to differentiate themselves to sell..he kept the lyrics just added a unique sound which make people believe that he greater than what he is, but he is hot tho.

rock star in the way he meant it means anybody doing what they do to the fullest. rock stars in my opinion rock stars “rock” (rap,sing,etc.)hard and play harder….rock star as he used it here seems to be just a metaphor.
Well i feel that lil wayne is the shit, i have been a fan since cash money, when everyone left, he was the one. I listen to his words in his songs and he spits some crazy, off the wall type sht that you either laugh or be like damn wayne its like that. Right now i think he is better than Jay-z, i want even compare him to 2pac, but on the real i dont know no other rapper that has put out as my cds and mixed cd as him and his last cd was that fire. Im with playa on this one.Except throw jay-z and biggie out the conversation. I didnt to much care for Carter 3 either. I think 50 cent hit the nail on the head when he said that Wayne is an industry prostitute. Now with that being said, Wayne is very talented lyric wise and he is doing very well for himself. Once he put that Lean down(for good), I do believe he will be better than the artist he has become. Having said that, he aint on Pac’s level. Nowhere close. How even dare this negro even open his trap to compare Lil Wayne to Pac or Biggie…Jay did a song with Wayne so for that he is left out of this rant and is left to fend for himself. Lil Wayne is garbage, and trash on his best day. On the real wayne is a good rapper, given that. But to compare him to Pac and Biggie, now that’s a little harsh. I mean he sold a million ok, but Pac albums went quad. Which means tripled over and over. So we can say waynes a good rapper doin his own thang and got his own style which that’s good. But to say that he’s the best rapper alive is a under statement. I mean you got fire ass rappers like Tip and luda, jeezy and so on. So lets just say lil wayne is a growin good rapper.
