Pause ya Sarato!

Why DJ’s should be more like DJ Wheezy?

print_trill_skillz_f.jpg Lil’ Wayne started more than a new phrase and a label when he blurted out “Young Money” on the intro of the A Milli single. More and more youngsters are generating income and taking advantage of these economic times, where it’s hard to find a job and smart to incorporate yourself. Two years into his profession and DJ Wheezy has become recognized as a leader in the south for his uniquely blended mixtapes. Heading toward his destiny at the age of 22, Charles Ray Burnett Jr. is known to many as DJ Wheezy or CEO of A-List Entertainment. The 4th Annual Southern Entertainment Awards held in Tunica, MS is a great place to see and hear some of the hottest music down south. At the event he managed to win the 2009 SEA Award for Best Mixtape Intro. A year earlier he was nominated for SEA’s Slept on DJ of the Year Award which is awarded to DJ’s on the rise.  Before the debate starts about who provides the hottest music South vs. North, let it be known that Wheezy’s influences are the likes of; NWA, Eazy E, Eminem, 50 Cent (the old 50), and Jay-Z. Although DJ Wheezy is from Memphis where the market is larger and exclusive material is attainable, being located in Nashville, country music capital, gives the perfect opportunity for him to be recognized as an outcast among DJ’s. Nashville doesn’t get exclusive {hip-hop} music quick and often. I specialize in breaking new artists out in Nashville and providing the entertainment for the city.” –DJ Wheezy trillskillz_cd_front.jpg                                     trillskillz3_front.jpg

Wheezy knows that some DJ’s don’t understand that their occupation is to break records into new markets and provide people with an exclusive experience. Many DJ’s have gotten lazy with the advent of Sarato, vinyl emulation software, and just don’t rock the party like they use to. “If you book a $100 DJ, you get a $100 party.” At a DJ Wheezy party you will find him manually scratching, blending and sampling while one of his protégé’s rocks the mic! “I call myself The Mixtape Tastemaker because I set trends in the mixtape game as far as how the mixtape is mixed, crazy skits, and movie clips never incorporated into a mixtape.” Check out the the DJ Wheezy link above to hear what makes the south so hot!
