Homeless Trio Sues Fugees’ Pras For Profits from Undercover Documentary
Disguised as a fellow homeless man, Trio says Pras exploited their livelihood without notice or compensation
For nine days in 2006, Pras, formerly of The Fugees disguised himself as a bum and with the help of surveillance cameras filmed an undercover expose/ documentary about homelessness in Los Angeles. Now three of the homeless people depicted in the film, “Skid Row,” are pissed they didn’t see a check and have filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Michelle Hassan, Wesley Bolden and Terrell Brown are seeking royalties after they claimed that they never approved the Pras’ use of their likeness for the documentary. The trio has since been able to make it off the streets but says that Pras and Screen Media Films who co-produced the documentary exploited their unfortunate situation, profited from it and has shared a vulnerable portion of their life and circumstances with the world without permission or compensation.

Gamble, even bums are lawsuit happy.
They probably need it more than most. I’m just glad they could afford a lawyer.
