Beat the Recession: Go To The UniverSoul Circus!
Highbrid Outdoor partners with UniverSoul to help present “The World In One Ring”
For the last 16 years, the UniverSoul Circus has been entertaining families across the United States and beyond, bringing a fresh new flava to the big-top circus. Over the years the black-owned circus has remixed the original by infusing hip-hop, soul and crowd participation to bring a whole new experience in family entertainment. With performers and exotic creatures from across the globe, the UniverSoul Circus has become a staple in the black community demonstrating how the soul of black folks all over the world is universal and hence the name.
The man behind the magic is Baltimore native Cedric Walker whose entrepreneurial spirit started at a young age when he shined shoes, sold Christmas cards, Kool Aid Popsicles, fruits and vegetables from a horse-drawn cart to make extra money. In the 1980′s he organized the Fresh Festivals (you might remebmer) the world’s first Rap music tour featuring the likes of Run DMC, Salt n Peppa and The Fat Boys. In the early 1990s, he produced the highly succesful gospel play “A Good Man is Hard to Find.” But in the mid 1994′s Cedric started “The Universal Big Top Circus,” now of course the UniverSoul Circus in the parking lot of Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta.
Since then the UniverSoul brand has blossomed. UniverSoul has done for live black entertainment what BET did with television. The name is synonomous with great, clean, family fun with a sprinkle of Hip Hop. Now starting its 16th year, UniverSoul is making its way across the country. With the economic crisis being what it is, UniverSoul now provides the most affordable family fun with seats as low as half the price of a movie theater ticket and at a fraction of the cost of broadway.
As part of Highbrid’s commitment to the community, Highbrid Outdoor, New York’s premier integrated commuter marketing company and sister company to Highbrid Nation has partered with UniverSoul to get the word out about circus dates here in New York. This March, Highbrid unveiled eight of these stylized eye catching commuter vans to promote UniverSoul’s local ticket sales. Those of you in the New York area may have already have seen these vans driving through your neighborhood. We’re very proud of the vans but even more proud of the positive impact that our relationship with UniverSoul has made on the community. UniverSoul has been there to support us and inversely they need your support.
If you’re interested in finding out when UniverSoul is coming to your town log on to www.UniverSoulCircus.com for an updated schedule and ticket information. You can also purchase tickets at Ticketmaster.com. We hope you enjoy this year’s show and we’ll see you under the big top!

I had the pleasure to watch the Soul Circus on two occasions and I really enjoyed. I thought I would take my daughters and they would enjoy and Id just enjoy watching them have fun. But to my suprise, I really enjoyed the circus more than my girls. If it comes to your city, go. Bet 5 you will enjoy the show.
no doubt
Def would go if they come by Kansas City, MO!
I had the honor of coming to Raleigh, NC in 2009 and seeing the for myself the best entertaining performances ever. My husband Anthony had never in 40 years been to a circus and to experience one like yours was a true thrill for a grown man on his birthday. see you next year. Yvette Cearnel from Butner, NC
Thanks Yvette!
