Highbrid Nation Remembers The Notorious B.I.G.

Posted by Juan

Christopher G.L. Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997)

Brooklyn’s own…we miss you man.  Its been 12 years since you crossed over but we still honor your memory.  Thanks Ms. Wallace.

Where were you when you found out? I was in Maryland heading to spring training baseball practice my senior year in High School. He was killed the night before so I was turning on the radio that morning to get my mind right. When I heard “Unbelievable” was on the radio I bumped the volume and got hyped. As the song goes off I can still hear the radio host saying “for those of you just tuning in, The Notorious B.I.G. was shot and killed last night in Los Angeles.” At that moment I forgot I was driving and almost veered off the road. Where were you? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Here’s a early B.I.G. home video for you to display Biggie in his rawest form.  R.I.P.

First of all. R.I.P. to the Notorious big! I cant beleive 12 years has gone so fast. It seems like he was here yesterday. What MC’s now days are and what they portray in their music. BIG was doin it then. But in 1997 a day or so before his demise. I think i was about 17 years old, and it was my junior year of high school. I was aware of his arrival in cali and he was in the bay area at the 107 station. I was like everything is cool. If he can make it out of the bay its all good. Pac is from the bay originally before leaving to L.A. So that night i partied hard. We was on our spring break. Eventually getting to waisted, I went home to sleep. Then i was woken up by my mom’s.She told me B.I.G. was killed in Los Angeles rite after mid nite. Shit that News was already in the paper’s that morning. My mom’s shot me the paper. And there was puff and big at the vibe joint. And it said RAPPER The Notorious B.I.G. slained! That was shocking. It hurt abit cuz i slumped his music ever since he came out. He was and still is my favorite RAPPER. Being that im from cali and this is my soil. I couldnt believe it happened. It felt ugly man. BIG,PAC and Mac Dre are gone. HIP HOP is dead just like NAS said it. I MISS B.I.G. and the others that left to soon.
